ALBERT PARK MASTER PLAN
ALBERT PARK MASTER PLAN – BE PART OF SHAPING THE PARK’S FUTURE
It has been 20 years since any comprehensive planning occurred for Albert Park as a whole and Melbourne has changed markedly in that time. A master plan is needed to set a 20 year vision for the park and guide it through the next stage of its history and the community is now being asked to have their input. To see more about this project, or to provide input, log onto the project website http://www.albertparkmasterplan.com.au/
The goals of the project are to create a park that is:
- Inspiring and exciting, as well as peaceful and relaxing;
- Treasured by the local communities and the community of Melbourne;
- Relevant to a growing and changing population;
- Generating revenue for the improvement of the park;
- Working towards sustainability in terms of natural resource use, and
- Able to respond to increasing and changing community pressures
If you want to see any improvements/changes to the south east section of the park (closest to St Kilda Junction precinct) or the park generally, we encourage you to participate in Parks Victoria’s drop in consultation sessions in the park or the survey currently active on the above website as this will help Parks Victoria to develop an understanding of what people value about the park.
